All-New 2023 Honda CR-V is Rugged and Ready For the Next Adventure
The next generation of Honda’s most popular SUV is on the way! Here’s what we know so far.
With a more rugged and sophisticated design, increased versatility, a more advanced hybrid system, and more capability, the 2023 Honda CR-V is preparing to make its debut.
Honda has released the first photos of the 2023 CR-V and these new images show the compact SUV’s new front and rear-end styling. Its new headlights and taillights and larger grille give it more presence on the road.
With this new generation, Honda will focus on the CR-V’s hybrid powertrain more than before with intentions that it will become half of the sales mix. The new Hybrid model is expected to be more powerful than the current CR-V Hybrid.
The nonhybrid CR-V powertrain is expected to be the same turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four that is currently standard. It will likely continue with a continuously variable automatic transmission and with front- or all-wheel drive.
Honda also describes the new CR-V as “rugged” and “adventurous” which means it might be gaining a Trailsport trim level, similar to the Passport and Pilot SUVs. This would most likely include slight appearance changes along with different tires and possible changes to the all-wheel-drive system or drive modes. The existing LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring trim levels should carry over as well.
